Job summary

Vancity is seeking a Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of our cloud-native data ecosystem as we migrate to Azure. You will define secure, scalable data architectures, ensure governance, and partner across teams to embed standards.

You will collaborate with engineering, BI, data science, security, and compliance to migrate legacy platforms and implement CI/CD for data workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience designing secure, scalable enterprise data architectures.
• Strong knowledge of data governance and metadata management.
• Experience migrating data platforms to cloud and implementing CI/CD for data workloads.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and evolution of Azure-based data architecture.
• Define cloud-native patterns, standards, and governance practices.
• Implement data governance to meet regulatory requirements (PIPEDA, OSFI, FINTRAC).
• Establish data classification, lineage, and metadata standards.
