Job summary

Service Star Freightways Inc. in Canada is hiring a full-time permanent truck driver to join our on-site team. Responsibilities include planning routes, loading/unloading, and operating straight or articulated trucks to transport goods, while maintaining safety and compliance.

Candidates should have AZ license with Air Brake endorsement, knowledge of driver logs, and ability to handle a heavy workload. International and national travel may apply; only those authorized to work in Canada should

Qualifications

• AZ class license with Air Brake (Z) endorsement.
• Familiarity with driver logbooks and trip reports.
• Maintenance and repair reporting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
• Professionalism in customer service
• Load and unload goods
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
