Job summary

Russel Metals is seeking an AZ Truck Driver/Warehouse Person for our Kingston, ON location. The role involves alternating between driving and warehouse duties, with Mondays and Fridays in the warehouse and the remaining three days on the road.

A safety-focused environment requires a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation. The candidate should have a valid AZ license with a clean driving record, be able to read and write English, lift heavy items, and adapt to shift work.

Qualifications

• AZ driver's license with clean abstract required.
• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Three years of safe driving record.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Box trailer or slider kit experience is an asset.
• Able to perform heavy lifting.
• Able to accommodate shift work.
• Good knowledge of math and measurements.
• Self-motivated and safety oriented.
• Strong sense of personal accountability.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in keeping with Ministry of Transportation requirements.
• Inspect vehicle and material on board.
• Strip and secure materials for safe transport.
• Operate vehicle safely according to local jurisdiction.
• Maintain records/logs as prescribed by MOT and company policy.
• Operate company issued equipment professionally.
• Maintain professional presentation with customers.
• Complete work assignments per customer requirements and deadlines.
• Liaise with Transport/Shipping to address delays or questions.
• Perform tasks safely and as directed by management.
• Participate in company training.
• Pack and unpack materials per customer specs.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance.
• Ensure quality customer service.

Russel Metals Inc. is currently seeking an individual for the position of AZ Truck Driver/Warehouse Person in our Kingston, ON location.

Must be willing to drive the truck AND work in the warehouse. The successful candidate will be working Mondays & Fridays in the warehouse and driving the remaining 3 days of the week.

Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation (including cannabis).

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Perform duties in keeping with the Ministry of Transportation requirements
• Conduct thorough and effective inspections of vehicle and material on board
• Strap and secure materials to ensure materials are safely transported
• Operate the vehicle safely and in accordance with local jurisdiction
• Maintain records/logs as prescribed by the Ministry of Transportation and Company policy
• Operate company issued electronic and/or communication equipment professionally and respectfully
• Maintain a professional presentation and interaction with customers
• Complete work assignments in keeping with customer requirements and deadlines
• Liaise with Transportation/Shipping department to advise of any delays or questions of deliveries
• Perform all tasks safely and as directed by management
• Perform all tasks in a professional, respectful manner
• Any other tasks that may be assigned by management
• Participate in all company directed training
• Picking and packaging material according to customer specifications
• Loading and unloading trucks
• Performing daily preventative maintenance
• Ensuring quality customer service
• Other various labour duties as required.

Education and Skills Required:

• Valid AZ Driver's license - Drivers Abstract required
• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Three years clean, safe driving record
• Ability to read, write and understand English
• Previous experience with a box trailer or slider kit an asset
• Able to perform some heavy lifting
• Able to accommodate shift work
• Good knowledge of math and measurements
• Self-motivated, results-driven
• Highly safety-oriented, strong situational awareness
• Strong sense of personal accountability.

Probationary Rate: $25.25/hour

Full Rate: $25.95/hour
