Job summary

Canada Cartage is seeking dependable AZ drivers to operate local routes around Cornwall and nearby Quebec. This full-time role covers days and evenings, with weekend work as needed.

You will perform deliveries and pickups, complete accurate documentation, maintain logs, and comply with hours of service and safety rules. Strong customer service and a clean driving record are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid AZ driver's license and bondable.
• Clean CVOR and driving abstract.
• Verifiable commercial driving experience (past 3 months to 1 year).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as required.
• Strong knowledge of Cornwall and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles on local routes.
• Complete deliveries and pickups in Cornwall safely and timely.
• Operate dry van equipment per company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Secure freight using straps, chains, and load bars with proper load-securement.
• Transport general freight following safety and regulatory guidelines.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report issues.
• Complete e-logs and delivery documentation accurately.
• Maintain Hours-of-Service compliance and safety policies.
• Be flexible for overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required.

Shift Schedule: Days and Evenings Monday to Friday weekend as needed

We are seeking dependable, safety-focused, and customer-oriented drivers to join our growing transportation team. This role is ideal for professionals who take pride in their work, consistently deliver high-quality service, and can operate safely and professionally in a fast-paced environment while representing the company.

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate company vehicles to transport freight across city/local routes
• Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations within Cornwall in a safe, timely, and professional manner
• Operate dry van equipment in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Secure freight using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, and load bars, ensuring compliance with load-securement standards
• Transport general freight in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and cargo securement; promptly report any issues to the maintenance department for timely repairs.
• Accurately complete all required documentation, including e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and incident reports
• Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures
• Maintain flexibility to meet operational and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required

Core Requirements

• Valid AZ driver's license
• Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada
• Clean CVOR and driver’s abstract
• Verifiable recent commercial driving experience (within the past 3 months to 1 year)
• Strong understanding of road safety regulations, hours of service, and load securement
• Experience operating commercial vehicles in winter driving conditions
• Ability to accurately complete eLogs, vehicle inspection reports, and delivery documentation
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as required
• Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, safety-focused approach

Role-Specific Requirements

• Minimum2Years of verifiable AZ driving experience
• Strong knowledge of Cornwall and surrounding areas
• LTL experience is an asset
• Ability to safely perform hand-bombing, including manual loading and unloading of freight, as required
