Job summary

Challenger Motor Freight Inc. invites Owner Operators to join a team based in Cambridge, Mississauga, or London. Typical weeks range 2200–2400 miles with a premium for operators owning multiple units.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• One year of verifiable commercial vehicle driving experience.
• Clean driving record.
• Maximum three demerit points (preferred).
• Zero convictions or out-of-service events on CVOR abstract (preferred).
• Criminal record search (no offences under Criminal Code of Canada).
• Valid Class AZ or Class 1 driver’s licence.
• Must be Cross border capable.

Responsibilities

• Owner Operators run a 300–500 mile radius from the terminal.
• Lanes of travel include states east of the Mississippi river, mainly NJ, PA, VA, Midwest, 401 corridor, and Greater Montreal.
• Dispatches are prioritized based on driver, customer, and load requirements; no forced New York City dispatch.
• Maintain 24-hour availability as required by legal regulations and company needs.
• Work with customers and deliver as part of Challenger Motor Freight Inc.'s service standard.

This opportunity can be based in Cambridge,Mississauga, or London.

What you need to be successful in the role

• Minimum 21 years of age


• One year of verifiable commercial vehicle driving experience


• Clean driving record


• Maximum three demerit points (preferred)


• Zero convictions or out-of-service events on CVOR abstract (preferred)


• Criminal record search (no offences under Criminal Code of Canada)

• Trucks must not be older than 7 years from the current calendar year.Trucks older than 7 years may be considered for approval through a review process.

Owner Operators run a 300 – 500-mile radius from the terminal. Lanes of travel are states east of the Mississippi river, including East Coast States, mainly NJ, PA, VA, Mid West some 401 corridor including Greater Montreal. All dispatches are done in a priority sequence based on driver, customer, and load requirements. There is no forced New York City (Boroughs) dispatch.
Our expectation is to have a minimum of 5 full days of 24-hour availability or more. We like to run you according to your available hours and within legal requirements, which could mean running over the weekend.
