Job summary

Gordon Food Service in London, Ontario is hiring an AZ Driver to deliver food products to customers on local routes. The role offers a 4-day work week with potential overtime and daily home time, with benefits after 30 days of employment.

Applicants should hold a valid AZ license with a clean abstract, be physically capable of lifting up to 80 lbs, and possess strong English communication and customer service skills. Prior driving experience is preferred.

• Verify product delivery against invoices at customer sites and maintain records.
• Follow health and safety and safe work procedures.

AZ Driver Position Highlights:

• Location: London, ON
• Competitive hourly rate for first 3 months ($31.11 per hour)
• Shift: Day Shifts: 3 - 5 am start times
• Pay for performance incentive program after 3 months

Skills, Knowledge and Ability Required:

• Valid AZ driver's license with a clean commercial driver's abstract
• Physically fit and able to repeatedly lift, stack, pull and carry heavy items (up to 80 lbs)
• Strong communication and customer service skills with English fluency
• Previous professional driving experience is preferred
• Ability to work in a variety of weather, temperature and road conditions

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing exceptional service to build and maintain quality customer relationships
• Manually sorting and unloading food products and hand-wheeling them into the customer locations with the use of ramps and occasionally stairs (approx. 600 - 1000 cases/shift)
• Operating straight trucks or trailers safely and professionally to transport goods and materials over urban, short inter-urban and rural routes
• Conducting routine pre/post-trip truck inspections and maintaining accurate records of delivery routes, temperature logs, count sheets and incident reporting
• Performing product delivery verification at the customer location and maintaining customer invoices
• Following health and safety and safe work procedures

DEPOT SPECIFIC JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

• Please note that in addition to the above job description the following criteria are applicable for all of our depot specific positions:
• Flexibility to cover other nearby Depots as required.
• Flexibility to cover nearby depots for both deliveries, and/or night transit routes for vacation or sick coverage as needed
• Ability to work weekends is required
• Availability to work a full 10-13 hour shift is required.
• Understanding that hours fluctuate depending on weather business needs.
