Job summary

Contrans Vrac is seeking a Company Driver for Canada/US routes. Openings: 6. The role requires physical fitness for climbing and lifting, pre-trip inspections, loading/unloading, tarping, and trailer maintenance. Drivers will operate 1–4 hours and coordinate with dispatch and safety teams.

AZ license is required; pre-employment drug testing is conducted. CVOR and driving abstract must be clean, with border crossings a normal part of the job.

Qualifications

• Must be physically fit to climb 12 ft in and out of dump trailers, approx 2–4 times daily.
• Must be able to lift 20–25 kg of material in and out of trailers, approx 2–4 times daily.
• AZ license is required and CVOR/Drivers Abstract must be clean.
• We require pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
• Knowledge of crossing borders between Canada and the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections, including kingpin release and dolly leg operation.
• Load and unload Bulk/Dump products, tarp trailers, and clean trailers after unloading.
• Remove cross bows from top of trailers and assist with equipment defects.
• Drive for 1–4 hours per shift, operate at varying facilities, and manage uneven ground.
• Interact with dispatch, customers, safety, and maintenance teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Pre-trip inspections(Involve walking, bending, lifting and releasing the kingpin from the fifth wheel, approximately 50 pounds pulling force and winding dolly legs up or down, approximately 10 pounds force on the crank)
• Loading and off loading Bulk / Dump products
• Tarping (opening and closing the trailer tarp on dump trailers, approximately15 pounds force twisting the tarp crank to open and up to 60 pounds pulling to close)
• Cleaning Trailers out (Sweeping the trailer after unloading – climbing,bending and walking)
• Cleaning Trailers with frozen product in side
• Removal of cross bows along the top of trailer (Requires hammer to removeall 10 cross bows)
• Climbing in and out of the tractor (approximately but not limiting to 2-4times daily)
• Driving (Driving can vary between 1 to 4 hours sitting and shifting thetransmission)
• Walking on uneven ground at different facilities while loading and off loading
• Dealing with Malfunctioning equipment (Trailer doors could get stuck,Trailer bows not easily coming out, issues with trapping system that may need extra force)
• Knowledge of axle weights
• Safe operation of equipment

Employment Requirements:

• Must be physically fit to climb 12’ in & out of dump trailers, approximately but not
• limiting to 2-4 times daily
• Must be able to lift 20 to 25 kg’s of material in & out of trailers, approximately but not limiting to 2-4 times daily
• Must be able to cross various borders between Canada and the U.S Minimum of 1 years heavy haul experience
• Or 3 years over the road experience Licenses / Certificates: AZ license
• Qualifications / Skills: Good CVOR and good Drivers Abstract
