Job description

GFL Environmental is seeking a G/DZ/AZ Commercial Box Truck Operator to join our expanding liquid team at our Brantford location. The role requires a motivated, professional individual with excellent customer service skills, dedicated to fostering positive customer relationships and promoting GFL's diverse service offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned trucks.
2. Complete daily routes as assigned by the Operations Manager.
3. Provide exceptional on-site customer service and promote GFL’s services.
4. Operate a box truck to deliver products and pick up commercial wastes, including oil filters, plastics, drums of automotive fluids, and service parts washers/spray gun machines.
5. Complete service paperwork adhering to GFL and TDG regulations; maintain cleanliness and maintenance of trucks and equipment.
6. Participate in GFL safety programs, including safety meetings, risk assessments, and job hazard assessments.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

• Valid G/DZ/AZ driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to drive manual transmission (DZ/AZ).
• Availability for full-time day shifts (8-10 hours).
• Strong organizational skills, multitasking, and time management.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Customer service experience.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Experience in safety-sensitive environments.
• Willingness to work out of town and overnight if necessary.
• Flexibility and dependability.
• Attention to detail and professionalism in difficult situations.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
• Physical ability to lift 75+ lbs.
• Waste management experience is an asset.
