AVIATION SECURITY SPECIALIST Starting at $22.06
A.S.P. is seeking an Aviation Security Specialist who will serve as an ambassador of the Airport, ensuring professional and positive interactions. The successful candidate must demonstrate integrity, respect, and responsibility for the security and safety at Lester B. Pearson Toronto International Airport.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and controlling public areas, high-profile/risk zones, check-in counters, and baggage areas.
- Reporting safety concerns, security breaches, suspicious activities, unattended items, etc., to the SOC/IOC and Shift Lead with detailed information.
- Conducting proactive foot patrols throughout the terminal to enhance safety, security, and visibility.
- Performing irregularity checks using unpredictable methods for hazards, security violations, unattended items, suspicious persons, etc.
- Assisting IOCC during alarms, power failures, access control issues, and other emergencies.
- Monitoring BOLOs, Amber Alerts, and Missing Persons reports, and maintaining surveillance for matching individuals.
- Participating in security briefings, client operations, and special event meetings.
- Maintaining and submitting shift reports, incident reports, and investigative reports.
- Representing the Airport Authority by providing excellent customer service.
- Inspecting and maintaining security equipment and tools.
- Assisting with training new security recruits and site familiarization.
- Performing emergency response duties as outlined in the Airport Emergency Response Manual.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or Grade 12 education.
- 2+ years of employment with A.S.P. or 3-5 years of security experience, or equivalent.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Strong knowledge of security hardware, software, and systems.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid Security License, Ontario Driver’s License (G or higher), with a clean driving record.
- Basic First Aid and CPR certification.
- Willing to provide a Criminal Record check upon request.
- Possession of a valid RAIC and AVOP D/DA is an asset.
