Job summary

KF Aerospace in Kelowna is seeking a Repair Design Engineer to develop engineering solutions for repairing airframe structures and components.

Reporting to the Repair Engineering Manager, you will apply repair manuals and drawings, assess discrepancies, and design repair drawings. The role requires an aerospace engineering degree or substantial experience, proficiency in AutoCAD/Mathcad, and a collaborative, detail‑driven approach.

Qualifications

  • Aerospace Engineering Degree with 2–5 years of relevant experience or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the design and analysis of aircraft structural repairs.
  • Experience providing engineering support for hangar and live aircraft operations.
  • Familiarity with Boeing or Airbus repair methods preferred.
  • Ability to analyze incomplete information and manage risk in decisions.
  • Knowledge of regulations (TCCA, FAA) and impact on conformity and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support to maintenance to restore serviceable status and interpret repair manuals.
  • Respond to requests from maintenance for technical assistance on projects.
  • Research and substantiate repair plans for structural defects and corrosion.
  • Ensure engineering actions comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop repair drawings for aerospace structural non-conformances.
