Job description

Overview

Ocean Optometry is a practice focused on genuine care, offering comprehensive eye examinations and advanced treatments, including Myopia Control and Neurolens services. We feature a curated collection of handmade eyewear and provide bespoke, custom-designed frames.

The Role

As a Licensed Optician, you will be a vital part of our team, ensuring every patient feels understood and cared for.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Guiding patients through a personalized eyewear consultation, helping them discover frames that resonate with their style and needs from our exclusive collection.
  • Ensuring the perfect, comfortable fit and optimal function of high-end lenses and frames.
  • Providing expert, easy-to-understand advice on the latest lens technologies, materials, and premium coatings, always with the patient's best interest at heart.
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and their experience is truly delightful.
  • Participating in the thoughtful curation and welcoming display of our unique eyewear collections.
Why Join Our Team?

This is a wonderful opportunity to work in a supportive, high-end boutique environment, a refreshing alternative to the typical optical chain model. You'll be at the forefront of fashion and technology in the optical industry, collaborating with a team that cherishes craftsmanship, artistry, and exceptional patient relationships. We are a small, cohesive team where your expertise and empathetic approach will be deeply valued.

Qualifications
  • Must be a Licensed Optician in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Opticians.

  • A strong eye for aesthetics and a genuine passion for high-quality, handmade eyewear.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a natural ability to build warm, trusting relationships with clients.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with a steadfast commitment to providing thoughtful and precise service.
