Job summary

Skeena Gold + Silver Limited seeks an Avalanche Technician to lead the avalanche safety program and provide expert guidance across departments. You will forecast, assess risk, train staff, and support emergency planning to protect people and assets at Eskay Creek site.

This site-based role requires 15 days on/13 days off rotation in a remote BC mine. Prioritize Indigenous engagement and safety leadership while coordinating with multiple teams to meet program goals.

Qualifications

  • CAA Avalanche Level 2 is mandatory.
  • WorkSafeBC blasting with helicopter/hand charging endorsements required.
  • BC mine blasting certificate required.
  • Advanced First Aid certification is required.
  • Valid driver's license with clean record.
  • ICS certification beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the Avalanche Safety Program and related programs.
  • Lead daily avalanche forecasting and control operations.
  • Provide safety leadership and model best practices.
  • Complete risk assessments per the Avalanche Safety Program.
  • Develop and deliver training materials.
  • Assist with emergency response plan development and drills.
  • Participate in incident investigations.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment.
