Job summary

Dominion Dynamics seeks an Autonomy Engineer to build the autonomy that will fly our platform. You will work directly with mission systems, tactics, simulation, and test stakeholders to translate operational intent into executable behaviour using a hybrid approach of behaviour trees and learned policies.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals (Python and/or C++).
• Hands-on experience with behaviour trees and/or learned policies (RL/IL).
• Experience simulating autonomy environments with scenario design and instrumentation.
• Ability to transfer systems from simulation to real platforms with integration and testing.
• Capability to translate operator intent into engineering requirements.
• Solid software practices — version control, code review, CI, testing.

Responsibilities

• Elicit and codify tactical behaviour from pilots and stakeholders.
• Design hybrid autonomy with clear handoff between structured logic and learned policies.
• Develop multi-agent coordination and target engagement behaviours.
• Build scenarios in AuraSim for training and stress-testing behaviours.
• Train and validate learned policies within RL/IL pipelines.
• Verify and validate across the full V&V lifecycle, including safety.
• Deploy behaviours to hardware with runtime autonomy stack integration.
• Analyze mission data to diagnose failures and refine models.
• Collaborate across simulation, sensors, hardware, and flight test teams.
