Job summary

Dominion Dynamics seeks an accomplished leader to head aerial autonomy for uncrewed aircraft. You will set the technical direction for perception, navigation, planning, and behaviours, and build a unified autonomy stack across airframes and with AuraNet C2.

You will lead the team and drive hands-on trials on-site in Canada. You will guide the autonomy roadmap, ensure safe and deterministic operation, and collaborate with weapon-system customers to deliver robust autonomy capabilities.

Qualifications

• Senior engineering leader with real-world aerial autonomy experience.
• Depth in onboard perception, GNSS-denied navigation, and real-time planning.
• Experience leading multi-vehicle autonomy programs and teams.
• Based in Ottawa or willing to relocate; on-site role.

Responsibilities

• Set aerial autonomy roadmap, capability by capability, airframe by airframe, with milestones.
• Build onboard autonomy stack capable of GNSS denial and EW resilience.
• Design the behaviour layer for mission execution, contingency management, and hand-back to operator.
• Develop collaborative autonomy across multiple aircraft with deconfliction and degraded mesh scenarios.
• Own the boundary between autonomy and flight control and define interfaces and safety envelope.
• Integrate with AuraNet for tasking, telemetry, and mesh in bandwidth-constrained environments.
• Set evaluation standards for simulation, surrogate testing, and flight tests.
