Job summary

Neepawa Tire Ltd in Neepawa, Manitoba is seeking an Automotive Service Technician for a permanent full-time role in our rural shop.

You will diagnose, service, and repair passenger vehicles, light trucks, and farm equipment, perform tire installations and maintenance, and ensure safety and quality in a busy rural environment. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of 27.00, regular full-time hours, and benefits after 3 months of employment.

Qualifications

  • 4 years experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
  • English communication sufficient to follow repair instructions.
  • Ability to diagnose issues accurately and complete repairs efficiently.
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation for remote location.
  • Automotive service training or trade certification preferred.
  • Able to lift, bend, stand and work in a hands-on shop.
  • Strong knowledge of cars, trucks, semis and farm equipment.
  • Good customer service and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service, and repair passenger vehicles, light trucks, and commercial equipment in a rural shop.
  • Perform mechanical inspections, maintenance, and repairs on trucks and semi-trucks.
  • Work on farm equipment and other off-road machinery when assigned.
  • Install, balance, rotate, and repair tires for a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
  • Complete accurate work orders, inspection reports, and service documentation.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Communicate clearly with service staff and customers about repairs, timing, and parts needs.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment to identify worn, damaged, or unsafe components.

Terms of Employment: Permanent full-time position, with a standard probationary period and scheduled shifts in a rural shop environment.

Wage: $27.00/hour

Benefits Package: Competitive hourly wage, regular full-time hours, shop-based work, and extended medical/dental after 3 months of employment at 50-50 with insurance liability at the employees cost.

Job Duties

Job Requirements
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation are required for this remote-community location.
  • 4 years experience as an automotive technician or mechanic, ideally with mixed fleet and heavy-duty equipment.
  • Strong working knowledge of cars, trucks, semi-trucks, and farm equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose issues accurately and complete repairs efficiently.
  • Comfortable lifting, bending, standing, and working in a hands‑on shop environment.
  • Good customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Automotive service training, trade certification, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • English communication skills sufficient to follow repair instructions and explain service recommendations.
