Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores is seeking an Automotive Service Installer to perform oil and lube service, tire installation, rotation and balancing, and light maintenance in a fast-paced service centre.

You will work with the Service Manager and technicians, provide estimates, and ensure safety and quality standards are met while contributing to a friendly, diverse team and a strong community presence.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods and perform physical tasks.
• Ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of current automobile technology and basic computerized systems.
• Experience in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre is an asset.
• Good communication and teamwork with service staff and managers.
• Proactive problem solving and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic maintenance and repairs (oil, lube, tires, inspections) as requested.
• Communicate with Service Manager, Advisors, and Technicians.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure unsafe vehicles are reported to management and owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
• Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
• Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
• Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• Valid driver’s license for province of employment
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
• Approachable
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Knowledge of current automobile technology
• Ability to work effectively with computerized systems
• Results-oriented
• Experience in a similar role, in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre (asset)
• Good working knowledge of COSTAR (asset)
