Job summary

Airdrie Dodge, part of the Kaizen Automotive Group, is seeking a Red Seal Journeyman Technician to perform high‑quality diagnostics, maintenance, and repair work on customer vehicles in accordance with OEM standards.

You will work closely with the Service Advisor and Management teams to ensure accurate communication, efficient workflow, and a superior customer experience in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certified automotive technician with strong diagnostic and repair skills.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical and electronic systems.
• Ability to use OEM tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on vehicles following OEM guidelines.
• Document repair needs and timelines clearly for service orders.
• Diagnose complex mechanical/electrical issues using OEM tools.
• Complete warranty repairs per OEM requirements and documentation standards.
• Mentor apprentices or junior technicians as assigned by leadership.

Overview

Position Summary

The Automotive Red Seal Journeyman Technicianis responsible forperforming high-qualitydiagnosis, maintenance, and repair work on customer vehiclesin accordance withOEM standards. This role requires advanced technicalexpertise, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering exceptional workmanship. The Technician works closely with the Service Advisor and Service Management teams to ensureaccuratecommunication, efficient workflow, anda superiorcustomer experience.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on vehicles following OEM guidelines and safety standards.
• Conduct inspections, identify repair needs, and provide accurate documentation for repair orders.
• Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using OEM approved equipment and tools.
• Complete warranty repairs in accordance with OEM requirements and documentation standards.
• Collaborate with Service Advisors to communicate repair needs, timelines, and technical findings.
• Road test vehicles as necessary to verify concerns and confirm successful repairs.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work area in compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Participate in ongoing OEM training, certification programs, and professional development.
• Follow all dealership processes, including proper parts handling, workflow procedures, and safety protocols.
• Mentor apprentices or junior technicians as assigned by the Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
• All other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certified Automotive Service Technician (or equivalent provincial certification).
• Strong diagnostic and repair skills with experience in electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems.
• Previous dealership experience or familiarity with OEM repair systems preferred.
• Ability to use OEM diagnostic tools, scan equipment, and modern repair technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and continuous improvement.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Additional OEM specific certifications are an asset.
