Canadian Tire Stores is seeking an Automotive Parts Associate to assist customers in a fast-paced retail setting. You will use a computerized automotive parts lookup system to source parts and help customers find everything they need, while maintaining stock and supporting store operations.

No prior experience required; full training is provided. The role includes shift flexibility, working on weekends/holidays, and opportunities for growth within a community-focused, locally operated business.

Qualifications

• Able to stand/walk for 8 hours and lift/carry items occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist and thank customers in person and over the phone.
• Source and order automotive parts through authorized suppliers.
• Process returns, warranties and castings as required.
• Recommend related products to ensure customers leave with what they need.
• Test and fill batteries, test starters and alternators.
• Maintain stock, labels and clean work area; ensure inventory accuracy.
• Adhere to Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Greet, assist and thank customers in a friendly manner, over the phone and in person.
• Source and order automotive parts through authorized suppliers.
• Process returns, warranties and castings as required.
• Recommend related products to customers so they leave with everything they need.
• Test and fill batteries, test starters and alternators.
• Ensure that retail tasks are executed efficiently (e.g., stocking, labels, facing, clean area etc.).
• Perform hole checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• No experience is required!!! – We will provide all the training you need! You just need to be passionate about automotive
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
• Approachable
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, using a ladder, twisting, turning and reaching
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
