Job summary

Canadian Tire Stores is seeking an Automotive Parts Associate to join our fast-paced retail team. You will deliver friendly customer service, help customers find automotive parts and work with vendors using our parts lookup system.

The role involves processing returns, warranties and related items, stocking and maintaining displays, and ensuring safety guidelines are followed in a diverse, supportive environment. Training provided; flexible hours available.

Qualifications

• No prior retail experience required; training provided.
• Willing to work various shifts (days/evenings/weekends/holidays).
• Friendly and approachable demeanor with customers.
• Able to stand/walk for long periods and lift/carry items as needed.
• Comfortable using computer systems for inventory/lookup tasks.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist and thank customers in person or over the phone.
• Source and order automotive parts through authorized suppliers.
• Process returns, warranties and castings as required.
• Recommend related products to customers to ensure they have what they need.
• Test and fill batteries, test starters and alternators.
• Ensure retail tasks are completed efficiently (stocking, labeling, cleaning).
• Perform hole checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Greet, assist and thank customers in a friendly manner, over the phone and in person.
• Source and order automotive parts through authorized suppliers.
• Process returns, warranties and castings as required.
• Recommend related products to customers so they leave with everything they need.
• Test and fill batteries, test starters and alternators.
• Ensure that retail tasks are executed efficiently (e.g., stocking, labels, facing, clean area etc.).
• Perform hole checks to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

• No experience is required!!! – We will provide all the training you need! You just need to be passionate about automotive
• Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
• Approachable
• Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, using a ladder, twisting, turning and reaching
• Strong computer skills
• Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
