Job summary

UPS is seeking an Auto Mechanic 310S to inspect, repair, maintain, and diagnose the UPS vehicle fleet at the Chatham facility. The role supports indoor warehouse/shop settings with a Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM–1:30 AM schedule, including potential overtime and union-based pay progression.

Starting wage is $36.00/hour with increases after 90 days and after 12 months to $42.29/hour; additional premiums apply for extra licenses. Benefits include weekly pay and group coverage.

• Must possess a clean driver’s abstract showing no violations in the current year and limited violations in the past 3 years

• Operate/test company vehicles within the UPS facilities & on public roads.

Job Description

The Auto Mechanic 310S is responsible for the inspection, repair, maintenance and diagnostic tests of the UPS vehicle fleet.

Full-Time, Permanent

Work Location

566 Riverview Drive, Chatham, ON

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday: 5:00 PM – 1:30 AM (some overtime may be required)

Compensation

• Starting Wage (310S License Holders): $36.00 per hour
• After 90 Working Days: $37.00 per hour
• After 12 Months (from the date seniority is earned): $42.29 per hour
• Additional Premium: Candidates who hold both 310S and 310T licenses will be eligible for an additional $1.00 per hour

• Possession of essential trade tools and equipment.
• Must possess a clean driver’s abstract/record (must not be obtained more than a month ago before the interview date) showing:
• No violations during the current year (last 12 months) and no more than 2 violations during the previous 3-year period (last 36 months)
• No accidents and a maximum of 5 demerit points for the previous 3-year period (last 36 months)
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Must pass a pre-employment road test.

Working Conditions

• Mainly indoors (in a warehouse or shop). Occasionally work outdoors.
