Job summary

SOPREMA is seeking an Automation Technician to support the operation and maintenance of its automated systems. You will work under the Maintenance Manager to troubleshoot, repair, and optimize plant automation, including PLCs, HMIs, and related controls.

The role requires strong communication, independence, and attention to detail. Electrical licenses or related engineering diplomas are preferred, with a focus on safety and reliability in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Requires either Licensed 442A/309A electrician or Electrical Engineering/Technician degree/diploma.
• Solid understanding of programming Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs; SCADA is an asset.
• Strong communication, both verbal and written; ability to work with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and operate SOPREMA's automated systems.
• Troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on automation equipment.
• Disassemble/reassemble PLCs and peripheral devices for repairs.
• Maintain documentation of projects and activities.
• Collaborate with technical team to implement CI improvements.
