Job summary

Manufacturingjobsite in Ontario, Canada seeks an Automation Technician to program, debug and commission automation systems alongside a skilled team. The role requires PLC programming across Allen Bradley platforms, HMI modifications, and knowledge of automation networks.

You will collaborate with Engineers and Maintenance to optimize line performance and safety. Wage ranges from $37.50 to $45.00 per hour with overtime, shift premiums, and a suite of benefits.

Qualifications

• Completion of a minimum 3-year diploma or degree in Electrical/Mechatronics/Electronics or equivalent.
• 3+ years PLC programming experience across Allen Bradley platforms (SLC500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix) with RSLogix/RSLogix 5000.
• 3+ years troubleshooting HMIs using Rockwell software tools.
• Knowledge of industrial automation networks (Ethernet, DevicNet, ControlNet, DH+/DH-485, RS-232).
• Experience with CNC/robot repair or programming is a plus.
• Ability to read electrical/electronic schematics and blueprints; familiarity with pneumatic/hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Program, debug and commission automation systems during integration and runoffs.
• Test and integrate hardware/software components including robots and sensors.
• Support line improvements and realignment of equipment with Engineering/Maintenance.
• Collaborate with Engineers through design, maintenance and inspection phases.
• Maintain PLC data and perform periodic backups; update equipment documentation.
