Job summary

Bombardier is looking for an Automation Engineer to join the industrial automation team in Quebec. You will maintain and develop control systems for a fully automated surface treatment facility, contributing to modernization projects across PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and network architecture.

You will collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering, supporting the analysis and implementation of new automation solutions as part of an Industry 4.0 transformation, and assist in documenting,

• Familiar with industrial automation principles and control logic.
• Solid foundation in programming and computer science.
• Understanding of PLCs, databases or networking is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and further develop the control systems of a fully automated surface treatment facility.
• Participate in control system modernization projects (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, network architecture).
• Support analysis, planning and implementation of new automation solutions (Industry 4.0).
• Contribute to documentation, testing and validation of changes to automated systems.
• Assist in technical problem analysis, troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with maintenance, production and engineering teams to ensure reliability.

• Participating in control system modernization projects, including industrial PLCs, operator interfaces (HMI), SCADA systems, and industrial network architecture.

How to thrive in this role?

• College diploma (D.E.C.) in Industrial Automation
• Familiarity with industrial automation principles (PLCs, sensors, actuators, control logic)
• Solid foundation in programming and computer science; knowledge of PLCs, databases, or networking is considered an asset
• Strong interest in industrial technologies, IT, and automation
• Curious, detail-oriented, and self-driven, with a strong willingness to learn
• Professional attitude and commitment to quality, essential in the aerospace industry
• Proficiency in spoken and written French; technical English is an asset
