Job summary

The role requires a mechanical engineering credential with 1+ year automation design experience. Proficiency in SolidWorks and pneumatic/electrical knowledge are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1+ years of automation design experience.
• Experience with robotic cells and assembly systems is an asset.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Strong knowledge of pneumatic systems and electrical devices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for robots, assembly lines, and inspection cells.
• Analyze drawings and specs to determine shape, dimensions, and finishes.
• Perform engineering calculations related to strength, speeds, horsepower, temperature, and pressure.
• Ensure designs comply with machine safety standards and customer requirements.
• Review electrical requirements with electrical designers and coordinate with the team.
• Produce drawings and BOMs in SolidWorks.
• Support manufacturing during build, debug, and integration.
• Provide time estimates and progress updates to management.
• Coordinate documentation and proposals as needed.
• Oversee interns and junior designers on projects.
