Job summary

Mikkelsen-Coward is seeking an Automation Estimator to join our Controls Department in Winnipeg. The role focuses on developing accurate quotations and project estimates for building automation and controls projects, with hands-on training and mentorship.

You will review drawings, prepare estimates, coordinate pricing with suppliers, create bills of materials, and support project costing. Strong organization, problem-solving, and teamwork are essential, and Excel experience is a plus.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel experience is an asset).

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings and specifications.

• Coordinate pricing with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Prepare bills of materials and project documentation.
• Support the estimating team with project costing and proposal development.
• Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Field Operations to ensure successful project execution.
• Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings.
• Maintain estimating records and pricing databases.
