Job summary

BlackCube Labs in Toronto is seeking a Senior Automation Developer to join onsite for an 11-month contract. You will design and implement automated tests across UI, API, and performance layers, leveraging Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, and JMeter among others.

You will analyze and convert manual test cases into automated scripts, work with QA and development teams, and ensure robust testing across the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
• Experience with UI testing tools: Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or WebDriverIO.
• API testing using Postman, REST Assured, or SoapUI.
• Performance testing with JMeter or Gatling.
• Solid understanding of test frameworks (TestNG, JUnit, Mocha) and BDD tools (Cucumber, SpecFlow).
• Ability to analyze manual test cases and identify automation opportunities.

Must Haves

Technical Skills - 40%

• Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#.
• Experience with version control and CI/CD tools like Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.

Quality Assurance & Testing - 35%

• Deep knowledge of the software testing lifecycle (STLC) and QA methodologies (e.g., functional, regression, integration, system, smoke, and exploratory testing).
• Experience developing data-driven, keyword-driven, or hybrid automation frameworks.

Soft Skills- 20%

• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams
