Job summary

Saputo Inc. in St. Marys, Ontario, seeks an Automation Controls Lead to oversee automation, control and electrical projects. You will program PLCs, HMIs, and instrumentation, lead teams, and ensure projects meet budget and quality standards.

The role reports to Maintenance Manager and requires strong leadership, PLC programming with Allen Bradley, and networking expertise. Salary ranges with benefits and a 40-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or automated production discipline.
• In good standing with the Professional Engineers of Ontario or equivalent.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong automation knowledge including PLC/Allen Bradley and HMI programming.
• Excellent Ethernet, DeviceNet, Modbus, Profinet, ASI networking knowledge.
• Autonomy, troubleshooting, and strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and support the plant in improvement and optimization projects.
• Respond to, troubleshoot and mitigate control issues with external contractor.
• Update PLC documentation and licenses for troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain installation standards.
• Carry out automation programming and instrumentation of systems.
• Collaborate with electrical engineering for control logic and HMI programming.
• Collaborate with maintenance to troubleshoot PLCs and optimize downtime.
• Prepare budget estimates with other departments.
• Establish OT/IT links for plant/maintenance requirements.
