BBA Consultants in Sudbury, ON is seeking an Automation Co-Op for Winter 2027. You’ll work with engineering experts across Canada on mining or energy projects, supporting studies and detailed engineering, and acting as a technical resource on the team.

The role involves preparing 2D/3D drawings, plans, data sheets and BOMs, performing automation calculations, and collaborating with engineers, technicians and technologists to deliver solutions that meet codes and client needs.

Competenze

• College or university student in an Automation, Mechatronics or Programming program.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite, AutoCAD and/or Microstation, and other applications as well as databases and interfaces.
• Available to travel occasionally between BBA offices.
• Asset: Automation experience in the industrial, energy or mining sectors.
• Asset: Bilingual, English / French.

• Carry out study or detailed engineering mandates for clients with existing facilities or those expanding or building new facilities.
• Participate in multidisciplinary mandates with engineers, technicians, and technologists.
• Analyze various types of technical problems related to automation design.
• Prepare 2D and/or 3D drawings per client and industry standards.
• Prepare plans, technical data sheets and specifications for automation mandates.
• Prepare calculations, lists and bills of materials in accordance with codes and firm QA.
• Prepare presentations, minutes of meetings and reports.
