Black Controls Company Inc. in Barrie, Ontario, is hiring a Mechanical Assembly & Development Technician to support the build and development of custom automation equipment. You will collaborate with engineering, electrical, and programming teams to bring engineered designs to life.

The role requires hands-on mechanical assembly, reading detailed drawings, and travel to customer sites as needed. We offer a fast-paced, collaborative environment with opportunities for growth and skills development.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in automation, machine building, or related field.
• Proficiency with SOLIDWORKS and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings to build mechanical and pneumatic systems.
• Assemble, fit, and install sub-assemblies and finished equipment.
• Perform precision assembly of machine components and machining as needed.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and pneumatic issues during assembly and testing.
• Design, install, and troubleshoot pneumatic circuits.
• Collaborate with electrical and programming teams for integration and development.
• Document modifications to drawings and track project status.
• Support installation and commissioning at customer sites.
