Job summary

PowerCo Canada Inc. in St. Thomas, ON is offering an Automation & Technical Training Co-op for a current student in a Canadian institution. The 4-month in-person role begins January 2027 and focuses on developing hands-on training solutions through automation and learning design.

You will design automation learning experiences, create training equipment, and tailor learning paths to shop floor roles, while coordinating with stakeholders and internal and external partners to track progress.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Robotics or related field.
  • Strong problem-solving and hands-on mindset.
  • Curious, creative, and eager to innovate.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Siemens PLC, vision systems, and safety sensors.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and creation process of automation learning experiences.
  • Support the design and creation of automation training equipment.
  • Assist in curriculum and learning material creation.

Your Role And Key Responsibilities

As a Automation & Technical Training Co-op you will support the development of innovative, hands‑on training solutions. This role focuses on enhancing technical training environments through automation and design of hands‑on learning experiences.

This position is in‑person and located in the town of St. Thomas ON. This is a 4 month co‑op position beginning in January 2027 for a current student in a Canadian institution.
