Job summary

Solotech Inc. is seeking a drafting professional to produce installation drawings and related plans for live productions and AV systems.

You will develop 2D drawings and 3D elements, collaborating with project managers to ensure client needs are met while adhering to Solotech standards. Required are a college diploma in a related design field, 2–5 years of experience, and strong knowledge of electronics and AV wiring.

Qualifications

• College diploma in architectural, industrial, or related design, or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in a similar position.
• Strong knowledge of electronics and a variety of audio/video wiring.
• Experience in the audiovisual industry is an asset.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2010 or newer.
• Knowledge of Vectorworks, Solidworks, or Revit is a plus.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work within deadlines and manage pressure.
• Attention to detail, diplomacy, and organization.
• Strong relational, interpersonal, and client-facing skills.
• Adaptability, teamwork, resourcefulness, and autonomy.
• Bilingual in French and English.

Responsibilities

• Create single-line drawings, block diagrams, equipment cabinet elevations, patch details, cable numbering, custom parts, and element placement in 2D and occasionally 3D.
• Collaborate closely with project managers to understand client needs.
• Prepare manufacturing plans, specifications, and production guidelines for custom items.
• Ensure drawings meet Solotech and industry standards and requirements.
• Manage administrative tasks related to draft plans.
• Recommend best practices for plan creation.
