The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is hiring a permanent full-time Auto Service Technician in the Public Works division to repair and maintain municipally owned vehicles and equipment.
The successful candidate will diagnose, repair, service and inspect faults in a fast-paced environment, perform MTO inspections, coach apprentices, and maintain records. A DZ license is required; 310T certification and 310S as an asset are desirable.

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has an opening for a permanent full-time Auto Service Technician in the Public Works division.
Preference given to current CUPE 12.1 members.
The Auto Service Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining a variety of municipally owned vehicles and equipment.
Because of the responsibilities, this position requires the successful candidate to have a valid class DZ (or higher) Ontario driver’s licence; a driver’s abstract will be conducted by the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. An acceptable driver’s abstract will: be an original document and current (within the previous thirty (30) days); have no more than four (4) demerit points; have no more than two (2) convictions for the same offence; have no criminal code convictions; have no ‘non-medical or administrative’ license suspension in the preceding three (3) years.
Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check prior to commencement of employment. A background check may include the following: education/certification verification and employment reference check.
This permanent full-time position has an hourly wage of $30.82 to $38.52 and will receive health and dental benefits following successful completion of a probationary period, as per CUPE 12.1 collective agreement, as may be amended from time to time.
