We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Automotive Detailer to join our team at Lakeside Chevrolet. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles on our lot and those belonging to our customers are meticulously cleaned and polished, providing them with a flawless, showroom-ready appearance. Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of vehicles, including washing, waxing, and vacuuming interiors.
- Inspect vehicles for any damage or issues that need attention.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and ensuring satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the detailing workspace and equipment.
- Utilize appropriate cleaning products and techniques to achieve high-quality results.
- Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
- Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
- Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
- Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
- Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
- Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
- File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
- Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
- Mix paint, blend and match colours
- Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns
- Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
- Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation
- Inspect repaired vehicles and test drive vehicles for proper handling.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in auto detailing and cleaning techniques (3-5 years)
- Education: other trade certificate/diploma or equivalent experience
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with clients
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Knowledge of various cleaning products and tools used in auto detailing
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Full G class or higher driver's license
- Clean driving record and driver's abstract
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.07 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
