Job summary

Simcoe County District School Board is seeking an Educational Assistant to support students in academic, behavioral, social and life-skill development within a safe, inclusive environment. This 1.0 FTE temporary full-time position involves mobility assistance and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a relevant university degree or a two-year college diploma in human services, along with BMS training and strong communication, organizational and teamwork skills.

• BMS training and strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team; behavior management plans and safety.

Responsibilities

• Support students to achieve success in academic, behavior, social, life skills and co-op situations.
• Work with multidisciplinary team to support learning development and inclusion.
• Assist with toileting, diapering, feeding, lifting, transferring and mobility as required.
• Rotate through the school to support students across grade levels and the Learning Centre.
