Job summary

The Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) is seeking Educational Assistants to support students across kindergarten to intermediate in regular classrooms and the learning centre. This 1.0 FTE permanent full-time role involves helping students achieve success in academic, behavioral, social and life skills development.

Relevant university degree or a two-year college diploma in the human services field.
Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) training.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Support students to achieve success in academic, behavior, social, life skills and co-op situations.
Work with a multidisciplinary team to create safe and supportive learning environments.
Assist with toileting, lifting, transferring, positioning and mobility as required.
Rotation through multiple groupings and grade levels within regular classroom settings and learning centre.
