Job summary

David Aplin Recruiting is assisting a Vancouver-based public accounting firm to add an Audit Manager to its team. This hands-on role requires a designated CPA with strong public practice experience to independently manage assurance engagements, mentor junior staff, support clients across accounting and tax matters, and contribute to business development.

You will lead audits from planning through completion, apply ASPE knowledge across client engagements, and collaborate on IFRS and ASNPO

Qualifications

• CPA designation required in good standing.
• At least 1 year of Manager-level public practice experience.
• Strong knowledge of ASPE and Canadian accounting standards.
• Experience independently managing audit and assurance engagements.
• Ability to mentor staff and manage multiple engagements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and review audit engagements and tax engagements.
• Lead files from planning to completion and meet deadlines.
• Mentor Senior Accountants and staff; delegate work.
• Review personal, trust, and corporate tax returns.
• Identify and resolve accounting issues with Senior Managers and Partners.
• Build client relationships and respond to accounting and tax questions.
• Support business development and client portfolio growth.

Job description

Our client, an established public accounting firm in Vancouver, is looking to add anAudit Manager to its team.

This is a hands‑on role for a designated CPA with strong public practice experience who can independently manage assurance engagements, support clients across a range of accounting and tax matters, and mentor junior team members.

The Role

• Manage and review audit, review, compilation, and tax engagements
• Lead files from planning through completion and ensure deadlines are met
• Apply strong knowledge ofASPE across client engagements
• Work with IFRS and ASNPO engagements where applicable
• Review personal, trust, and corporate tax returns, along with GST, T4, and T5 filings
• Identify and resolve accounting and tax issues in collaboration with Senior Managers and Partners
• Manage client relationships and respond to accounting, tax, and financial reporting questions
• Delegate work effectively across staff levels
• Review staff work and provide ongoing coaching and technical guidance
• Mentor Senior Accountants and junior team members
• Manage multiple competing deadlines and client expectations
• Support business development and relationship-building initiatives

What You Bring

• Minimum1 year of Manager-level public practice experience

Nice to Have

• IFRS experience
• At least one Canadian tax season with working knowledge of Canadian taxation
• Experience with personal, corporate, and trust tax returns
• Experience with CaseWare, CaseView, TaxPrep, and Microsoft Office
• ASNPO experience
