Job summary

Buchanan Technologies is seeking a Learning, Meeting, and Huddle Space (LMH) Technician to support two campuses with AV system expertise and printer fleet management.

The role involves first-line troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and proactive maintenance of AV and printing equipment, ensuring high availability and excellent user service. Shifts run 8:00 AM–8:00 PM, five days a week, on-site.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma/degree or equivalent work experience with integrated AV systems.
• CTS, CompTIA (A+, Network+, IT Fundamentals) certifications are assets.
• Familiarity with ITIL, HDI, or Project Management best practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support for integrated AV systems across academic and meeting spaces.
• Ensure high availability and functionality of AV and printing equipment.
• Deliver excellent customer service to faculty, staff, and students.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and perform necessary repairs or component replacements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve common and complex AV issues.
• Train users on effective use of AV equipment and provide troubleshooting guidance.
• Monitor and prioritize service tickets, ensuring timely resolution.
• Maintain accurate documentation of service calls, troubleshooting actions, and resolutions.
• Collaborate with IT and facilities teams to improve system reliability and performance.
• Track KPIs such as first-call resolution, knowledge transfer, and customer satisfaction.

Job description

Job Title: Learning, Meeting, and Huddle Space (LMH) Technician

Contract: 12 months with possibility of extension

Work Schedule: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (40 hours per week). Shifts will be scheduled between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM, Monday to Friday, based on operational requirements.

Job Summary

The LMH Technician plays a key role in supporting academic learning spaces, administrative meeting areas, and student huddle spaces by delivering technical support for integrated Audio Video (AV) systems and managing the academic printer fleet. As the first responder, the LMH Technician is expected to independently resolve most technical issues encountered.

This role also includes performing repairs, replacements, and assisting with AV system upgrades. The technician will monitor service requests, identify improvement opportunities, and collaborate with other teams to implement system enhancements.

This person will be supporting two campuses with scheduling week to week. Shifts will be required and the team tries to schedule you with the same shift at the same location week to week.

Experience Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in the AV industry.
• Proven track record in AV support and troubleshooting.
• Network, PC, and printer troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with AV hardware repair and replacement.
• Ability to work independently and solve technical problems under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
• Collaborative team player willing to adapt to new technologies and evolving processes.
