Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) is seeking an Audio-Visual Specialist II to provide advanced technical support for the design, assembly, configuration, programming, testing, troubleshooting, repair, upgrade, and documentation of SAIT’s audio visual systems.

The role primarily supports classrooms, labs and related learning spaces at SAIT’s Calgary campus, contributing to reliable AV environments that support teaching, presentations, events and daily campus operations.

Salary range: $85,000 - $95,000
Placement within the range is typically based upon a review of skills, experience, and internal equity.
Hours per week: 37.5
Paid leave: 4 Weeks Vacation / 14 Flex Days per year

Reporting to the Supervisor, Audio Visual Services, the Audio-Visual Specialist IIprovides advanced technical support for the design, assembly, configuration, programming, testing, troubleshooting, repair, upgrade, and documentation of SAIT’s audio visual systems.

The role primarily supports classrooms, labs, and related learning spaces, while also supporting other campus spaces as operational priorities and resources allow. This position contributes to the reliability, functionality, and consistency of integrated AV environments that support teaching, learning, presentations, events, and day-to-day campus operations.

The Audio-Visual Specialist II works with a range of AV technologies, including control systems, displays, projection systems, audio systems, signal distribution, switching, conferencing equipment, and related infrastructure. The position is expected to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, support system changes and upgrades, perform programming and configuration activities in accordance with established standards, providing technical input on improvements when requested, and maintain accurate documentation to support ongoing operations, lifecycle planning, and service continuity.
