Description
This position plans and directs a set of applications/technology projects, which typically involve multiple systems or impact more than one area of a program. Responsible for the overall on-time, on-budget delivery of ongoing SAP module implementations and change requests. Organizes and leads a cross functional team in developing and implementing project deliverables, with an emphasis on quality, productivity, and consistency.
Key Accountabilities:
- Overall SAP Program Management:
- Single point of contact for all SAP project statuses.
- Develop strategies and procedures for efficient implementation of all SAP related projects.
- Team management, including regular evaluations, budget management, risk management and the support of business activities.
- Develop and implement project tools specific to SAP implementations.
- Manage Corporate Finance SLA's with Production Support & Application Support to ensure end user support needs are met & service levels are maintained.
- Manage multiple teams and co-ordinate with IS to support all SAP related disaster recovery testing.
- Liaise with Centrica UK SAP resources to leverage project knowledge and experience.
- Serve as an SAP subject matter expert on aspects of SAP deployment and integration projects.
- Develops program plans — time and cost estimates:
- Manages project staff, some of which are not accountable to the Program Manager.
- Work with business sponsors in identifying business requirements and developing project plans and business cases.
- Provides formalized, continuing work direction and leadership to assigned team(s) of Analysts and Technical Specialists including the scheduling, assignment, and review of project work.
- Tracks, monitors and communicates program progress against the consolidated plan, requirements, quality measures, standard processes and milestones.
- Oversees program budget.
- Coordinates Program Communications:
- Co-ordinates the input, support, and communication with all functional groups that impact program scope, business value, risk and resource requirements.
- Provide technical direction and control of project planning, communications, reporting, procedural and contractual activity.
- Manages resources:
- Estimate project skill requirements, working with deployment to identify appropriate resources and managing their integration into the team.
- Project Management Processes:
- Ensures that periodic quality reviews, internal audits, synergy team and architectural reviews are carried out.
- Ensures timely escalation and resolution of project issues.
- Accountable for defining and producing the content deliverables as defined in the project plan.
- Lead Steering committee meetings, consulting with senior executives as well as leading developers and users.
- Identify gaps in project delivery process and make recommendations for improvement.
- Manage all internal IS processes for project initiation, approvals, reporting, close-out, and third party billing.
- Supports all internal and external audits related to SAP.
Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on technical experience in at least one core SAP module certification in any of: FI-CO, RE, AM, PS, MM, SD, HR modules CATS, ESS, FS-CD, BW, BCS, BPS.
- 5 or more years of Project Management experience including management of projects and programs.
- 3+ years of SAP Configuration/Development.
- Minimum experience in managing one complete SAP implementation end to end.
- Highly proficient in all tools required for a world-class SAP Program (PMO) structure.
- Relevant degree and/or equivalent work experience.
- Proven IT experience in business applications/technology solutions.
- Expertise in complex business/technical processes and their application with the organization and/or business area.
- Expertise in project management discipline/protocols including project management tools.
- A sound business knowledge with an Information Technology background.
- Working principles that are process-oriented and methodology driven.
- Data analytics and business impact assessment.
- Experience managing minimum 10+ resources.
- Managed end to end business change and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent customer-oriented service skills to manage senior management and business unit stakeholders.
Preferred:
- SAP Certification.
- Current experience managing a SAP implementation, roll-out, or upgrade would be a definite asset (Release 4.7 or higher).
- PMP Certification.
- Post Secondary Degree Mandatory (Computer science degree preferred).
- Experience in Financial Systems projects (Analyst or PM role) preferred.
- Experience with Energy or Brokerage Trading environments an asset.
