Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 1–3+ years of experience supporting engineering project delivery, power system studies, protection & controls, or compliance documentation (NERC experience preferred).
• Familiarity with generator/IBR standards and deliverables.
• Strong ability to organize, set priorities across multiple projects, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Strong documentation skills: meeting notes, status updates, deliverable trackers, risk logs, evidence indices.
• Experience with document control concepts and auditable project records.
• Excellent communication, time management, and collaboration with internal SMEs and external clients/vendors.
• Must have permanent authorization to work in Canada.

This role supports scoping requirements, coordinating technical inputs, tracking schedules, organizing evidence packages, and supporting audit readiness. The Associate Project Manager helps ensure assumptions, protection/control requirements, model deliverables, and compliance documentation align with applicable Standards and project requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for supporting the management of scope, schedule, and cost for the project.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the assigned projects.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate discipline‑specific scope, schedule, and milestones, and deliverable lists.
• Represent the discipline in internal and client cross‑functional project discussions.
• Identify technical or compliance risks early and elevate appropriately.
• Participate in early project planning to identify discipline‑specific resource needs based on project scope, complexity, study requirements, and NERC deliverables.
• Maintain visibility into resource assignments, workload distribution, and dependencies across active projects.
• Track discipline hours against budget and forecast, ensuring accurate reporting to Project Management.
• Regularly communicate with stakeholders:

Identify resource‑related risks that could affect project milestones.

Develop mitigation strategies (e.g., adjusting schedules, redistributing work, or escalating priority conflicts).

Document resource risks and communication impact proactively to the stakeholders.

Identify and communicate inefficiencies, gaps, or bottlenecks in workflows.

What We Expect from You

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–3+ years of experience supporting engineering project delivery, power system studies, protection & controls, or compliance documentation (NERC experience preferred).
• Familiarity with common generator/IBR standards and deliverables (as applicable to role)
• Demonstrated ability to organize and set priorities across multiple projects, manage action items, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Strong documentation skills: able to prepare clear and concise meeting notes, status updates, deliverable trackers, risk logs, and evidence indices.
• Experience with document control concepts (versioning, review/approval workflows, transmittals) and maintaining auditable project records.
• Strong quantitative and tool skills, including intermediate Excel (trackers, pivots, basic formulas) and comfort working in SharePoint/Teams or other collaboration platforms for controlled file sharing.
• Excellent verbal/written communication, time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills; able to work effectively with internal SMEs and external clients/vendors.
• Must have permanent authorization to work in Canada.

Additional Opportunity Details:

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $82,000 - $110,000 CAD
