Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a winter 2027 internship focused on user research and product discovery. You will conduct conversations with product users, identify friction, and translate insights into actionable requirements and prototypes.

As part of the Mitacs program, you will collaborate with top Canadian universities and the product team to iterate based on real user feedback and support releases with AI-enabled tooling.

Qualifications

  • Mitacs eligibility is required.
  • Current student in Winter 2027 at the listed Canadian universities (Masters only).
  • Passion for product management and customer-focused solutions.
  • Experience using AI tooling such as Claude.
  • Clear, confident communication and professionalism when engaging with teams and executives.
  • Understanding of the product lifecycle and SDLC from concept through launch and iteration.
  • Interest in receiving and applying early feedback.
  • Ability to iterate with real users on meaningful problems.

Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Current student seeking work experience in Winter 2027 (January–April)
  • Currently enrolled at the University of Alberta, University of Calgary (Masters only), University of Waterloo, University of Toronto, or Queen’s University
  • Must meet Mitacs eligibility criteria
  • Passion for product management and creating customer-focused solutions
  • Experience using AI tooling such as Claude
  • Clear, confident communication and professionalism when engaging with teams and executives
  • Understanding of the product lifecycle and SDLC from concept through launch and iteration
  • Interest in receiving and applying early feedback
  • Ability to iterate with real users on meaningful problems
