Job description

Job Title: Associate Procurement Project Manager

Job Location: Toronto, ON M3B 0A4

Duration: 12 Months contract

Job Description:

• The Associate PPM role supports Bids and Project PPM on high complexity projects and/or manages low complexity projects throughout the procurement cycle.
• Primary responsibility is to plan and manage equipment procurement to streamline and secure the supply chain for assigned projects.
• Bid phase:
  1. Support the Bid PPM in preparing and maintaining the Acquisition Procurement Plan for proposals.
  2. Prepare and maintain the Acquisition Plan for low complexity projects or extensions for existing customers.
  3. Assist the Bid PPM and Category team in identifying potential supply sources to support proposals.
  4. Identify procurement risks related to equipment and provide assessments and mitigation strategies under Bid PPM supervision.
  5. Optimize purchasing mix (cost, schedule) for proposals.
  6. Coordinate with the Category Manager to launch RFQs supporting proposals as per the Industrial Project Procurement plan.
• Design/Manufacture Phase:
  1. Execute project procurement through the implementation of the Acquisition Project Procurement plan, ensuring risk, cost, and lead times are managed.
  2. Manage the process for timely authorization to purchase or manufacture project equipment, including spares.
  3. Coordinate with Engineering to ensure hardware designs are released timely for procurement.
  4. Coordinate activities related to supply chain execution with the Project Supply Chain Lead.
  5. Act as the project Supply Chain Lead for assigned projects.
  6. Participate in change management to ensure design changes are processed promptly and impacts recorded (PCN implementation).

Required Competencies:

• SAP knowledge
• Advanced Excel skills
• Project risk management and mitigation planning
• Ability to drive project completion in a timely manner
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in project management or project-based organizations
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills for negotiations and reporting

Education:

• Bachelor's or college degree, preferably with a scientific background and additional business education or experience
