A leading financial services provider in Canada seeks an Associate Planning Analyst to join their Global Data Technology team in Toronto. This hybrid position requires strong analytical and financial management skills to support project planning and budget optimization. The opportunity
As an Associate Planning Analyst, you will bring analytical thinking and a desire enable the execution of how data technology is transforming at Manulife. The position is well-suited for someone who enjoys change, adapts quickly and able to navigate independently through complex processes.
The position will be hybrid based in Toronto, ON.
As a part of the Global Data Technology (GDT) team, you will join a forward-thinking team of dedicated, engaged and high performing professionals focused on working together, challenging the status quo and owning our future. This role will support the oversights for strategic project planning, portfolio planning, optimizing budgets and forecasting, and ensuring financial efficiencies across projects.
Position Responsibilities:
Assist in portfolio management for GDT, ensuring compliance with Manulife Outcome Delivery Framework (ODF), Delegation of Authority (DOA) thresholds and alignment with data strategy.
Support the build and rollout of Project Portfolio Management (PPM) using Planview.
Support and coordinate the annual planning process for GDT.
Assist in generating reports and providing updates for portfolio and forecasting.
Support the Quarterly Business Review for GDT leadership.
Collaborate with FinOps on infrastructure consumption reporting.
Partner with business and finance teams to align initiatives with the organization’s strategic goals/to assess the value driven by GDT initiatives.
Deliver reports and key performance metrics to the executive leadership team.
Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes.
Foster a collaborative environment to promote data-driven decision-making.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to capture and analyze data needs.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business administrations, information technology, or a related field.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in reporting & analysis.
Strong verbal and communication skills to articulate complex issues clearly.
Strong financial management skills and critical thinking.
Analysis & Reporting knowledge and experience.
Portfolio management.
MS Excel and other business intelligence tools preferred.
2+ years’ experience in an Information Technology environment preferred.
Experience building and using Planview or other PPM tools is highly recommended.
Excellent organizational skills.
Flexible and adaptable when dealing with change and multiple priorities.
Positive attitude with the ability to deliver within tight deadlines.
Collaborate with geographically and culturally diverse multi-functional teams.
Exceptional interpersonal, relationship management and teamwork skills.

MS SharePoint, PowerBI, and Visio
Knowledge of practical AI usage

Salary range is expected to be between
$61,350.00 CAD - $102,250.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location, please contact recruitment@manulife.com for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
