Job summary

The City of Saskatoon is seeking a Temporary Full Time Planner 16 level position to provide introductory land use and development planning services under supervision. You will work on the Planning and Development Branch or Land Branch, supporting policy and development proposals.

Responsibilities include assisting with reports, liaising with applicants and the public, and contributing to special studies. Evening work is noted; driving and delivery of effective client service are expected.

Qualifications

  • Degree in planning or a directly related field.
  • Possession of, or eligibility for, CIP and SPPI.
  • Six months’ related professional planning experience.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence.
  • Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation and response to land use planning proposals and reports.
  • Communicate with applicants, property owners, consultants and the public on policy issues.
  • Assist with special studies and projects related to land use policy and development.
  • Provide professional and technical support to division leadership.
  • Coordinate work of other staff as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
