Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking an Associate/Associate Director, Business Integrator to drive the integration of new OTC products and activities within Capital Markets. You will assess impacts, define requirements, and coordinate across Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Finance.

You will lead initiatives from concept through governance, ensuring robust processes, risk controls, and clear implementation documentation while supporting delivery teams and highlighting

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field with 5-7 years of relevant experience in Capital Markets.
  • Strong understanding of OTC products and transaction structures across asset classes and business units.
  • In-depth knowledge of full trade lifecycle including trade capture, confirmation, settlement, collateral, valuation, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of OTC trading platforms, books of record (such as Murex), market infrastructure, or regulatory frameworks is a strong asset.
  • Experience coordinating and delivering cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify operational issues, assess impacts, and drive resolution with stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end impact assessments and integration of new OTC products, business activities, and material changes across Capital Markets within governance framework.
  • Develop understanding of proposed products, transaction structures, and business objectives; challenge assumptions and ensure complete requirements.
  • Coordinate and align end-to-end stakeholders across Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and other control functions.
  • Identify dependencies, gaps, and risks, and drive timely resolution; escalate to senior stakeholders and governance forums as needed.
  • Ensure end-to-end processes, controls, roles, accountabilities, and implementation documentation are clearly defined and maintained.
  • Contribute to prioritization, sequencing of initiatives, and development of target architectures and implementation strategies.
  • Support delivery teams in solution design, drive cross-functional synergies, and share knowledge for complex initiatives.

You will independently manage straightforward to moderately complex initiatives and contribute to larger or more strategic mandates under the guidance of senior team members. Your Job
  • Lead end-to-end impact assessments and integration of new OTC products, business activities, and material changes across Capital Markets, including contributing to the definition of end-to-end operational and regulatory requirements, risks, controls, and mitigation strategies within a robust governance framework
  • Develop a deep understanding of proposed products, transaction structures, and business objectives, and act as a challenge function by questioning assumptions and ensuring completeness of requirements
  • Coordinate and align end-to-end stakeholders across Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and other control functions to ensure delivery of requirements across all domains
  • Identify dependencies, gaps, and risks, and drive timely resolution throughout the initiative lifecycle, including escalation to senior stakeholders and governance forums when required
  • Ensure end-to-end processes, controls, roles, accountabilities, and implementation documentation are clearly defined, structured, and continuously maintained

This position reports to the Managing Director responsible for transformation and evolution initiatives in the New Products and Activities team within the Capital Markets sector. Our team consists of around 45 highly experienced, talented, and dedicated individuals and stands out for its strong collaboration, agility, and deep understanding of capital markets activities and operating models.

You will work closely with trading, risk management, and functional experts across the organization, gaining end-to-end exposure to products, processes, and business strategies. We foster a dynamic environment where learning, innovation, and knowledge sharing are encouraged.
