As part of our continued growth, we have a new opportunity for Associate Medical Director to join our leadership team based in the Inland Empire region.

Overview:

The Associate Medical Director (AMD) is a member of the clinical leadership team who provides leadership to support the development of infrastructure and ongoing performance management on population health and medical management initiatives and programs for the Inland Empire region. They will also be responsible for maintaining and establishing a network of high-quality providers within the market. In partnership with operational leadership, they will develop and ensure ongoing relevance of clinician compensation structure. The AMD will support the hiring and performance management of employed clinicians and oversee community physician leaders.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees both IPA (Independent Physician Associate) clinicians and Employed/Group clinicians in terms of risk adjustment, quality metrics, utilization management, patient satisfaction, and inpatient metrics in the value-based care model.
  • Acts as liaison for communication with physicians, hospitals, and other providers in the community.
  • Engages in committees including quality improvement, peer review, specialty networks, contracting, and credentialing.
  • Supports affordability strategies including inpatient management, high-risk member management, and site of service for specialists (optimal care strategies).
  • Participates in recruitment efforts for employed physicians and other specialty services as needed by the organization to serve the region.
  • Works with local site leadership on clinical concerns within the practice and clinician quality of care issues.
  • Meets in-person with groups and individual clinicians when needed to support the IPA and employed clinicians and provides necessary data to seek opportunities and drive performance.
  • Identifies, implements, and monitors processes improvement by identifying the unique needs of the region.
  • Will oversee local site physician leaders for the IPA and employed/group sites.
  • Collaborates with operations dyad partners to achieve goals set by senior leadership including quality measures, risk adjustment, affordability, and access.
