  • Monitor BAS to ensure building performance and comfort; log work orders in CMMS.

Job Summary The Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting the day-to-day operational needs of the facility. This role requires a well-rounded technical skill set, including general building maintenance, mechanical systems, and the ability to work with building automation and maintenance management systems. The ideal candidate is proactive, safety-conscious, and capable of troubleshooting a wide range of facility-related issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform general building maintenance and repairs, including drywall patching and repair, painting, carpentry, and minor renovations
  • Conduct basic electrical work, such as replacing outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and troubleshooting minor electrical issues
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, clearing drains, and maintaining restrooms and break areas
  • Support HVAC systems, including basic troubleshooting, filter changes, monitoring performance, and coordinating with external vendors when required
  • Monitor and interact with Building Automation Systems (BAS) to ensure proper building performance and comfort levels
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to log, track, prioritize, and complete work orders efficiently
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests and facility emergencies in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams as needed
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in facility maintenance or building operations
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Drywall repair and finishing
    • Basic electrical systems
    • Plumbing and carpentry
    • HVAC systems and controls
    • Building Automation Systems (BAS)
    • Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Physically able to lift, climb, bend, and perform hands‑on maintenance tasks
Preferred Qualifications
  • Trade certification or technical training in facilities, HVAC, electrical, or related field
  • Experience in commercial or retail facility environments
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs
Work Environment
  • Combination of indoor mechanical spaces and public areas
  • Occasional after‑hours or weekend work may be required
  • Standing, walking, lifting, and use of hand and power tools required
