Job summary

BDO seeks an Associate for M&A and Capital Markets to join the Advisory team in Canada. You will support high-impact transactions by preparing teasers, CIMs, and management presentations, and by performing in-depth financial analyses and market research.

The role requires a CPA/CFA/CBV designation, 2–3 years in related services, and strong MS Office proficiency, with travel within Canada/North America as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, with a CPA, CFA, or CBV designation.
  • 2–3 years of experience in audit, valuation, corporate finance, M&A advisory, or other related professional services.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-sufficient, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare transaction marketing materials, such as teasers, confidential information memorandums, and management presentations.
  • Prepare lists of potential acquisition targets, buyers, and investors.
  • Perform in-depth financial analyses, including evaluating earnings sustainability and cash flows, working capital needs, and key value drivers.
  • Prepare financial models including historical and forecast operating models, net working capital calculations, and other transaction-specific analyses.
  • Conduct market, industry, and company research to support transactions and business development activities.
  • Communicate with transaction counterparts including sellers, buyers, accountants, legal counsel, and other advisors.
  • Support various business development initiatives through the preparation of pitch materials and marketing content.
