Job summary

Stewart McKelvey seeks an Intellectual Property lawyer to join our Halifax, NS or St. John’s, NL offices. The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of IP experience, including trademark prosecution, copyright/trade secrets protection, licensing, and IP strategy. Candidates should be in good standing with a Canadian Law Society and able to manage multiple client priorities under tight deadlines. This is a partnership-track role with active client development.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ representative experience in IP matters.

The Opportunity:

We are currently looking for an Intellectual Property Lawyer to join us in Halifax, NS or St. John’s, NL.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years’ representative experience in connection with:

• Trademark prosecution in Canada;
• Copyright, trademark and trade secret protection;
• Licensing and other IP agreements, including SaaS/distribution contracts;
• Representation of clients on IP matters before the Federal Court and TMOB;
• IP strategy and advice.

In addition, the ideal candidate has strong communication skills and can manage multiple client priorities within tight timelines.

This is a partnership track role and, as such, the successful candidate will be expected to actively participate in client development and positively contribute to the culture of the firm.

Candidates must be a member in good standing with a Canadian Law Society.
