Job description

We are a Mississauga-based law firm serving clients across Ontario. Our practice is built on the representation of individuals and businesses in legal matters where strategic judgment and precision are essential. Our core areas of practice include: (i) commercial litigation and debt recovery; (ii) consumer protection litigation, with a particular emphasis on disputes arising within the automotive industry; (iii) administrative law, including advocacy before a broad range of Ontario tribunals such as the Landlord and Tenant Board and the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada; and (iv) transactional real estate matters (mainly residential).

Our approach to client service is grounded in the delivery of legal services that are accessible, timely, cost-effective, and impactful.

Equally important is our commitment to the professionals within our firm. We operate within a collaborative, team-based model that equips our team members with the resources and technology necessary to develop and do the best for our clients.

We have experienced a growing demand from our existing client base for general civil litigation, real estate transactions, and general wills and estates solicitor work. To meet this need, we are seeking to recruit an Associate Lawyer.

This role presents a meaningful opportunity for a lawyer seeking a long-term professional home; one that supports growth, autonomy, and responsibility.

Role Expectations and Core Competencies

A successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the following:

  • You are confident and professional in client interactions and capable of conducting or meaningfully participating in client consultations. You must possess a strong foundational ability to explain complex legal concepts in a practical and understandable manner.
  • You are comfortable working with modern legal-technology platforms and case-management systems, and you appreciate the role technology plays in efficient and effective legal practice.
  • You are seeking a stable, long-term position and are motivated to grow alongside a firm that is invested in your professional development.
  • You are a creative yet disciplined legal problem-solver who approaches files with defined strategy and attention to detail.
  • You will take primary responsibility for your assigned files and are expected to effectively deploy firm resources, including clerks and paralegals delegating appropriately while maintaining overall carriage, responsibility and accountability.
  • You are comfortable appearing before forums such as the Superior Court of Justice on both motions and trials, the Ontario small claims court, and various other tribunals.
Qualifications

Successful applicants will possess the following:

  • Full licensure as a Barrister and Solicitor in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. (Please note: we are not currently considering summer students, NCA candidates, or LPP/articling students.)
  • A minimum of one (1) year of meaningful experience practising law in Ontario. The ideal applicant will have between two (2) to four (4) years of experience.
  • Working knowledge and practical experience in one of the following areas: (1) Civil Litigation; (2) Real Estate Transactions; or (3) Wills and Estates.
  • New calls are welcome to apply, but there must be demonstrated working knowledge or practical experience that you gained during articles within one of the above practice areas.
Compensation
  • The firm offers a competitive compensation structure designed to support long-term professional growth and stability.
  • Base Salary: $70,000 - $96,600 base per year (commensurate with experience)
  • Guaranteed Annual Salary Increase
  • Professional Fees Covered by the firm: Law Society of Ontario annual fees, LAWPRO professional liability insurance premiums
